Toothed lock washers
made of steel
for screw-locking devices
Additional item for the screw-locking device for high
bolt forces!
In combination with the well-known screw-locking
device made of polyamide, the toothed lock washer
made of steel is a valuable further development for the
use of bolts made of high-grade steel. This combination
permits any desired bolt force without damaging the
screw-locking device as a result of subjecting the
bolt and nut to high stress.
During the assembly procedure, the locking device is
placed in the toothed lock washer. When the nut is
being tightened, the locking device becomes deformed, whereby the external reinforcement of the crosssectional double-T-shaped locking device is pressed
against the extemal wall of the toothed lock washer
which then prevents further evasion toward the outside. The internal reinforcement is pressed under high
pressure into the threads of the bolt which results in
high frictional locking and simultaneous sealing. Due
to the combination of the screwlocking device and the
toothed lock washer, a high coefficient of friction is
created between the supporting surface and the nut
when these parts are tightened down. This also increases the locking effect considerably. At the places
where the teeth of the toothed lock washer are located, the locking device is perforated under high pressure so that the nut comes into contact with the steel
teeth. The result is a partially rigid connection of steel
on steel and plastic that is capable of absorbing any
desired bolt force. Due to the material of the screwlocking device pressed into the semicircular recesses
of the toothed lock washer, a longlasting elastic effect
is provided
