  Double locking device „DSL“

  The „DSL“- double locking deviceis a locking element 

  that, due to a design-related from of elasticity with 

  respect to its height dimension, prevents the loosening 

  of screw connections resulting from a yielding deformation of the screws or workpiece. Simultaneously, a 

  high degree of sealed-tightness of the connection is 

  also achieved.

  The basis for the development of this product was the 

  integration of the advantages of two materials and two 

  strengths.

  The function of the steel locking element enclosed by 

  the tough, hard polyamide is to provide a steel-to-steel 

  connection between the nut or bolt head and workpiece that is able to absorb the enormously high pretensioning forces when the parts are being screwed 

  together.

  Due to the bending, distorting and penetrating of the 

  tooth-shaped projections into the surface of the involved surface areas, the friction is increased and results 

  in a form-fit connection.

  The plastic material enclosing the steel locking element adapts itself to these deformations flowingly and 

  protects the locking element against corrosion for a 

  long time.

  The second locking element of this DSL-double locking

  device is the enclosing plastic washer made of polyamide.

  The effect of this design shape is based on the fact 

  that the friction between the comparably hard surface 

  of the nut or bolt head as well as of the workpiece and 

  of the slightly deformable plastic piece is increased 

  accordingly, and on the fact that the plastic material 

  adapts itself to the unevenness of the supporting

  surface of the nuts or bolt head and workpiece and on 

  the fact that the plastic material is pressed outward 

  and downward due to its initial shape in order to place 

  itself there around the external surface of the nuts or 

  bolt heads of hexagon head screws and hexagon socket screws and then penetrates into the threads.

  Here an additional higher degree of friction locking is

  produced which results in the double effect of this 

  elastic, highly loadable locking device.
