田黄石（Field-yellow stone），简称“田黄”，产于福州市寿山乡“寿山溪”两旁之水稻田底下、呈黄色而得名。寿山石优良品种。广义的田黄石指“田坑石”，狭义的田黄石指田坑石中发黄色者。物理性质、工艺美术特征方面，田黄石与寿山石相近，已成为独立的印章石品种。

　　田黄石是我国所特有的“软宝石”之一。全世界只有我国福建寿山的一块不到一平方公里的田中出产，因色相普遍泛黄色，又主要是产在田里，故称田黄石。顾名思义，就是产于寿山田坑中的黄颜色石材。笼统地说，田黄的产量并不低，留在民间的旧田黄件和印章也不少。但值得提醒的是，田黄的质地优劣悬殊，价值高低差异大，不能一概而论。而值得收藏的、高价投资的也仅是田黄中少部分特征明显，各方面俱佳而无可挑剔的上品。
