越来越注重长线投资，刘益谦当年以每股1元的价格竞拍所得的一汽轿车4000多万股法人股股权，据称地下市场现已涨到每股4元以上，但他还是稳坐泰山，声称要持有到流通上市以后。去年底，中证报根据根据新理益已成为前十大股东的10家上市公司计算，推断刘的财富为10.9亿元。但是目前看来，10.9亿的身价，是过于保守了。刘益谦在上海一家高尔夫俱乐部购入的价值3000万元的别墅已开始装修，可他却连怎样拿高尔夫球杆都还不会。用这位40岁的“新理益”当家人的话说，他这是“穷人命”。2003年春节后，刚刚做完一个小手术的刘就在希望自己在上市公司“百科药业”股东大会前尽快好起来，因为在这个会议后，刘将第一次成为上市公司的董事长。
今年香港巴塞尔是第三届，算上其前身香港艺博会(ART HK)则是第八届。ART HK 开办之初，把展期定在5月下旬，而在巴塞尔收购后，展期调整则势在必行:巴塞尔已经有了2个系列艺博会:6月在欧洲的瑞士、12月在美洲的迈阿密，香港作为其第三个艺博会，原来的会期与欧洲的会期相隔太近，因此他们决定把香港会期改到每年3月。他们说，是为了平衡全年的“世界艺术展地图”。
