The ITR20403 consists of an infrared emitting diode and a silicon phototransistor encased in a black thermo-plastic housing. The advantage of the device is the small package. Phototransistor receives radiation from the IR LED only, and avoids the noise from ambient light.

　　The Solt Optical Switch is a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode whitch is coupled with a silicon photo transistor in a plastic housing. The packaging system is designed to optimizes ambient light. The slot in the housing a provides a means of interrupter the signal with printer,scanner,copier,or other opaque material,switching the output from an “ON” to ”OFF” state.
