珐琅彩瓷，正式名称应该为“瓷胎画珐琅”，又名“古月轩”瓷器。创烧于康熙时期，在雍正、乾隆时达到了工艺顶峰。这种诞生于宫廷，专为皇家使用的帝王之瓷，创造了一个彩瓷艺术高峰，成为名副其实的“彩瓷之王”。

　　其实，综观多种工艺门类，无不随着社会经济的起落而兴衰，不仅仅珐琅彩瓷在康雍乾时达到顶峰，另外如雕漆、家具、玉器、牙雕等等被这祖孙三代青睐的工艺，在有清一代，艺术价值和工艺价值都从乾隆之后开始迅速衰落，无复往日之胜。

　　清宫档案记载，珐琅彩瓷在康熙二十七年在宫中开始试烧，历时三十多年，于康熙五十九年才烧制成功。

　　珐琅釉料源于外国，又名“佛郎”或“拂郎”，明代“景泰蓝发”即是使用珐琅釉料烧制的一种铜胎珐琅特种工艺品。早期珐琅釉料多施在金属胎体上，至康熙时开始烧制瓷胎珐。
