　　General Description

　　The TD1730 is a single‐phase, constant‐on‐time,synchronous PWM controller, which drives N‐channelMOSFETs. The TD1730 steps down high voltage togenerate low‐voltage chipset or RAM supplies in notebookcomputers.

　　The TD1730 provides excellent transient response andaccurate DC voltage output in either PFM or PWM Mode. InPulse Frequency Mode (PFM), the TD1730 provides very highefficiency over light to heavy loads with loading‐ modulatedswitching frequencies. In PWM Mode, the converter worksnearly at constant frequency for low‐noise requirements.

　　The TD1730 is equipped with accurate positive current‐ limit,output under‐voltage, and output over‐voltageprotections, perfect for NB applications. The Power‐On‐ Reset function monitors the voltage on VCC to preventwrong operation during power‐on. The TD1730 has a 1msdigital soft‐start and built‐in an integrated outputdischarge method for soft‐stop. An internal integratedsoft‐start ramps up the output voltage with programmableslew rate to reduce the start‐up current. A soft‐stop functionactively discharges the output capacitors with controlledreverse inductor current.
