商品化经营计划(Merchandising),也叫做商品供应计划,意为站在使用者立场上,为了在适当的场所和时间,以低廉的价格向使用者提供适当数量的高品质商品,从计划到最终交付使用的全过程。其中包含了商品开发、生产、保管、搬运、陈列、促销等全部经营活动。

一般说来,商品化经营计划包括两种密切相关的过程:商品开发过程和经营技术开发过程。商品开发过程包括:采购体系开发;企业自有商标品种(Private Brand)和商店商标品种(Store Brand)开发体系;委托加工生产体系三部分。经营技术开发过程包括经营商品结构开发、售价、分类、保管、运输、售货现场设计、布局、商品陈列、店内广告、促销、支付方法、服务等经营过程的各环节。这两种过程概括起来,就是商品化经营计划过程。用来实施上述安排的,作为以大批量经营为特征的连锁经营系统,就是大批量商品化经营系统。其中关键是商品开发。商品开发的核心是商品的价格和品质(性能)。
