输入信号模块是PLC控制系统中的一部分。主要负责接收现场设备或控制设备的信息，并进行信号电平转换，然后将转换结果传送到CPU进行程序处理。
根据所接收的信号类型，将输入信号模块分为:
（1）数字量输入信号模块（DI，简称数字量输入模块）。
（2）模拟量输入信号模块（AI，简称模拟量输入模块）。
区别
（1）数字量输入模块只能接收高低逻辑电平信号，如开关的接通与断开；
（2）模拟量输入模块可以接收连续变化的的模拟量信号，如温度传感器输出的DC 4-20mA电流信号。
