大理石的物理特性:1.物理性稳定,组织缜密,受撞击晶粒脱落,表面不起毛边,不影响其平面精度,材质稳定,能够保证长期不变形,线膨胀系数小,机械精度高,防锈、防磁、绝缘。2.石材质颗粒细腻均匀,其结晶粒度的粗细千变万化;颜色众多。3.石资源分布广泛,便于大规模开采和工业化加工。4.石质地比花岗岩软,属于中硬度石材,有较高的抗压强度和良好的物理化学性能。
大理石的化学特性:大理石属于变质岩,其形成过程复杂多样,且矿物种类繁多,所以不同的大理石其材质性能差别很大,像摩氏硬度就从2.5到5相差了一倍。所以大理石的使用有一定的标准:体积密度不小于2.6g/cm3;吸水率不大于0.75%;干燥压缩强度不小于20MPa;弯曲强度不小于7.0MPa。
